What are some good all around bass lures and techniques?
Hello, I'm just getting into fishing with artificial lures and I have some questions about lures and techniques. Could anyone tell me some good lures that work just about anytime and some techniques for them? I have alot of lures but dont really have the knowledge on how to rig (Worms), retreive etc. Thanks alot for any help.
four words: texas rigged soft plastics.
look it up, its super easy to rig. and its pretty easy to fish too. since the advent of soft plastics, fisherman have become much more successful. plus, you can buy one kind of hook, and one kind of weight and about a zillion different kinds of lures.
if you get bored with the slow presentation of soft plastics, then i would suggest hairpin spinnerbaits. also easy to fish and a little more activity to keep you entertained.
i almost forgot! topwater, topwater, topwater! get a heddon torpedo or tiny tordepo. maybe a heddon jitterbug. these are the easiest topwater baits to fish with, some other topwater baits require complicated presentations (see:walking the dog) NOTHING beat the excitement of watching the water around your bait explode in a violent frenzy. just be sure to wait until you feel the fish on the rod before you set the hook. if you set the hook when you see a strike, you will most likely miss the fish.
