what do i need to go saltwater fishing?
every now and then i go to a beach in north carolina, and want to begin fishing there. i am not sure what kind rod, reel, bait, etc. to get, and i don't know everything that i will need. i am a complete beginner. please help.
If you are near Cape Hatteras, you into some prime fishing location. Just ask a local. Most use shrimp, some use mullets or bunker. To fish the surf you'll need at least a 10' foot surfcasting rod. In the bay a 7-footer should do. N. Carolina is ideal fishing grounds because you have to waterways, the gulf stream and the Labridor stream. Plenty of fish. Just ask a local. I use a Shiman baitrunner, but Penn now makes good reels for the surf.
