Good Saltwater Rod reel setup help?

Im looking for a deadly combo that i can use as a go to setup. i want it to be conventional, not to long of a rod and not to big of a reel, but i want to catch fluke, flounder, snapper, seabass, and fish of that nature. i have a shimano curado coming in about three weeks and i got the saltwater version i am planning to put it on my shimano trevala. how does that combo sound? im not really to picky but i want a combo that can be FINAL that i can use regularly. thanks!

Looks like you've already made up your mind to go with your shimano combination. For myself I still use my old reliable combination from 30 years ago. I never liked the bait casting reels. Too hard to readjust in the dark when surf fishing and I guess I just always preferred the big spinning reels. I still use my old Penn 704's with the skirted spools and the original ugly sticks. Why mess with something that works, and besides all the repair parts are still available.
