can i use the Shimano Curado for brackish/saltwater fishing?
Is it only a reel meant for freshwater? Im looking to pair it with a st. croix premier rod 6'6" with 20 pound spider wire. I plan to use it mostly for bass/peacock fishing with the occasional snook/redfish fishing.
You can use that reel for brackish water but keep in mind that you will have to get it serviced about every 3 months. The salt water will do a number on these reels if you don't take care of them. Other than that it should hold up to Peacocks, bass, snook and redfish. For the money you're going to spend on that reel, I would look into one that is saltwater tolerant, it only makes sense and saves you from having the reel serviced often. ~good luck catchin'
