Rod/Reel Combo help?!?!?
I know that it's all a matter of preference, but what do you think would be the best reel to accompany a St. Croix Tidemaster Inshore fishing rod?
I apologise but I wasn't clear in the details? What is the best spinning reel?
thank you to everyone who provided info.
shimano or daiwa make perfect spinning reels I use fresh water models in saltwater bays and inlets and have for over forty years. I wash them down and clean them after each time on the water. once a year I break them all down and polish them up and lube the bearing and grease the drags. I change the line sometimes three times a year on some of them but what ever the case take your rod into the best display of reels go to every store you can and try them all on it! see what one is level when holding the rod right in front of the seat. balance is everything when fighting a fish and casting efficiancy too. Also look for line capacity for your targeted species you want to catch my God don't buy a100 yard 8 pound capacity if you are fishing for sharks (I hope you understand) I would also suggest a reel with two (graphite) spools so you can be prepared for a quick change should the bite go to a teethy kind of fish.
