Do poodles tails curl up on their backs?
I just rescued a dog and they told me he was a poodle, which he looks just like one except his tail curls up onto his back, could he be a shih poo? His tail looks just like my shih tzu's but he has a face and coat like a poodle.
I have been an avid poodle lover for about 30 years now ...I have bred poodles and know that their tails can curl up if the dog isnt trained to carry itself with its tail up and proud.........this is something that is shunned in the poodle arena and this is why breeders/ trainners train their poodles to carry their tails high mighty and proud this is one of the things that makes this breed look so eligent and dignified but......your answer is yes a poodles tail can end up curling up to a certain degree especially if there was some 'IRESPONSIBLE BREEDING' and the dogs tail was'nt docked as a very young puppy! unfortunatly in some cases nomatter what you do some poodles will carry their tails slightly curled over their back anyway!
