daiwa SOL fishing rod?
at a shop they have a daiwa SOL spin rod marked down from $355(american dollar) all the way down to 187. ive heard these rods are very good so i am willing to buy it. its the daiwa sol, 4-8lb 7'' spin rod. could anyone please tell me if this rod is worth getting or not. ont hold back to tell why it is/not good. thx:)
#1. Do you NEED or want an Ultra-light rod that costs $187?? A 4-8LB designation on the rod means it's only useful for lite-tackle situations against "General Panfish & small Trout", and any deepwater fish in open water such as Walleye.
Do you want such a lite rod?
#2. Although I'm sure it's a fine rod, (Daiwa doesn't make bad equipment at that price point), I can name roughly 12 OTHER rods I would buy before purchasing the SOL.
#3. I can't find any info on a SOL fishing ROD, (there is tons of info on the SOL Spinning REEL). The less "buzz" about a product, the less inclined I'm willing to take a chance ON that product.
Lastly, I think you are confusing a "rod" as either a "combo" (A combo is a rod and reel sold together) OR just the Sol reel.
The Daiwa SOL spinning reel has plenty of reviews. It appears Cabelas still has them in stock for $209. They never sold for more than $200 when they were first released.
