What do you think of different colors for the bouquets/boutonnieres?
I want to use roses for the wedding party's bouquets and boutonnieres.
I found some of the connotations of the different colors, and I thought it might be nice to incorporate them into the wedding party. I was thinking:
red (true love) for my bouquet and my fiance's boutonniere
yellow (friendship) for the maid of honor, bridesmaids, best man, and groomsmen
white (purity) for the flower girl and ringbearer
What do you think? I like the symbolism, but are the different colors too much?
It sounds like a lovely idea and will work if the colors mesh well in your color scheme. Something else to consider is to put a note in the program of the meaning of the different colors of roses; otherwise, the guests won't know what you are trying to achieve
